Decision on Smoking Ban Delayed

DALLAS [WBAP/KLIF] – Dallas park board members have delayed a decision on whether to ban smoking in city parks.

The decision came after several panelists said they’d like more input about possible exclusions to the rule.

As recommended, the ban would prohibit lighting up in any city owned park, including municipal golf courses and even at the State Fair of Texas.

At least one city golf pro said the ban could reduce his business by 15-to-20 percent.

The proposal will be rewritten and considered again at a future date.
