Eric Clapton guitar auctioned for charity

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas based auction house Heritage Auctions sold one of singer-songwriter Rric Clapton’s guitars over the weekend. It was a charity sale. The money is going to Texas musician Johnny Nicholas, a member of Asleep At The Wheel, to help him pay for his wife’s leukemia treatment. Clapton’s 2014 Fender Stratocaster sold for $45,000, more than double the pre-auction estimate. It was one of two guitars Clapton played during a concert last year at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
