Committee to Hear Recommendations on Dallas’ Homeless Problem

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Dallas Homeless Commission’s final report said there are 10,000 people without housing in the city.

The report will be laid out to the city’s Housing Committee on Monday morning.  It shows a severe shortage of affordable housing.  It said more than 1,000 homeless people qualify for rent subsidies that can’t be used because of the housing shortage.

The report also cited a lack of available mental healthcare and homeless services being concentrated to one area as major setbacks in fighting this issue.
