HALTOM CITY (WBAP/KLIF News) — A man arrested on drug charges took police for a wild chase early Thursday morning.
A Grand Prairie police officer was checking 25-year-old Luis Alarcon Jr. out of Parkland Memorial Hospital after being arrested for drug possession, but Alarcon was able to get away from the officer and steal the police SUV.
He led Dallas Police on a roughly 30-mile chase from Dallas to Haltom City, where he eventually crashed after driving off an embankment.
Nobody was injured, but police said Alarcon will now face charges for theft of a police car and eluding officers in addition to his drug charge.
