(WBAP/KLIF) The 85th Annual United States Conference of Mayors is being held in Miami Beach, FL. and a few Texas mayors are in attendance; one being Garland Mayor, Doug Athas. Several issues are being discussed throughout the conference and Mayor Athas says he is concerned with local road conditions: “I’m always bring issues to the table, in particular 635 and getting the funding we need to finish the part of LBJ East between Mesquite and North Dallas; that’s one of the things that I talk about constantly and how we are going to be able to bridge that gap.”
Mayor Athas also says it’s important for City Representatives to come together on the issues and not focus on their political differences.
