DFW Airport Gets ‘Top Passenger Experience for 2016’ Title

Dallas, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – DFW Airport has has a new coveted title – Top Passenger Experience for 2016.

The title is based on passenger surveys conducted by the industry group Airports Council International. The survery covered things like check-in, cleanliness, shopping options and more.

Airport officials say they implemented a strategy to be more pro-active and less reactive, and it’s paying off.

“Rather than being reactive to everything, we can be proactive. We can work with the [Transportation Security Administration], work with our other vendors and partners so that issues don’t become really big issues,” said the airport’s CEO, Sean Donohue. “That’s starting to really pay dividends to us.”

Cynthia Vega with DFW adds, that what makes them unique is the amount of things to do when you get past security — especially for those who like to arrive early.  She says passengers can get hair cuts, manicures, back massages and other things.

Officials say the strategies used in attaining the Top Passenger Experience title last year were continued and expanded throughout 2017.
