Allergy Season Arrives in North Texas

DALLAS(WBAP/KLIF)- March showers are bring April sneezing and sniffling to allergy sufferers in north Texas. Parkland Hospital Rhinologist Dr. Ashleigh Halderman says Dallas is one of the worst cities for allergies.

“It’s currently high pollen in Dallas and its pretty much high pollen all the time in Dallas,” according to Dr. Halderman.

With the current influx of new residents into North Texas, Dr. Halderman says she is seeing an increase in new patients. It takes about two seasons for a new resident to acclimatize themselves to new surroundings.

As far as treating allergies, one of newest methods is oral drops, which patients can administer to themselves, thereby avoiding the pain and annoyance of shots which makes Dr. Halderman and her patients happy.
