North Texas Food Bank Receives Big Donation from Retail Giant

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A donation from a retail giant is helping feed kids in North Texas.
Wal Mart announced Tuesday that it is giving $10,000 to the North Texas Food Bank. The money will supply food to summer lunch programs.

“Often times kids lose that access at the end of school,” said North Texas Food Bank Chief Philanthropy and Marketing Officer, Erica Yaeger. “Which means parents are faced with having to add an additional 10 meals a week per child.”

Yaeger said $10,000 translates into 30,000 lunches for kids across 13 North Texas counties.
