Dallas is not on the Army’s short list of possible headquarters sites

Washington, DC (WBAP/KLIF) – The U.S. Army has decided Dallas will not be the site of its new, Futures Command Headquarters. The Army had been looking at 15 possibilities, and Dallas was one of them. However it has now narrowed that list to five, and Dallas is not one of the finalists.  Austin is, along with Boston, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, and Raleigh, North Carolina. The final decision will come before the end of the month. The Army says it wants the new headquarters to be as close as possible to experts in technology and innovation.
