Fuel Spill Closes High Five Interchange in North Dallas

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The headache of headaches for North Texas travelers came Thursday with most of the Dallas High Five interchange closed for hours.

A fuel spill Thursday morning led to hours of cleanup on various ramps in the large interchange connecting I-635/LBJ Freeway and U.S. 75/Central Expressway in North Dallas.

The High Five was reopened after 3 p.m. Thursday.

According to the Dallas Police Department, preliminary accident investigation suggests the liquid shifted in the trailer of the 18 wheeler while in the curve causing it to overturn. Wreckers were brought in to upright the 18 wheeler. No injuries were reported.

Dallas Fire Rescue crews were tasked with spraying water on the tank to keep it cool.
