Temperatures Break Records in North Texas

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – Meteorologists are anticipating record heat through the weekend in North Texas.

Meteorologist Dennis Cain with the National Weather Service in Fort Worth says the DFW area reached 108 degrees Thursday which surpassed the previous record of 107 set in 1925.

“It won’t be the last record. We’ll break the record Saturday and Sunday and possibly even Monday,” Cain said.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas has already broken records for peak demands this week and is anticipating more records as the heat continues.

ERCOT though it not urging conservation yet.
