(WBAP/KLIF) – Two new Air Force One planes are going to be built in Texas.
The Department of Defense awarded the contract to Boeing Co. this week. The value of the planes is $3.9 billion.
Boeing released the following statement:
“This award from the U.S. Air Force brings us a step closer to providing the next generation of Air Force One presidential aircraft. We are eager to begin work on this important project building a flying White House at an excellent value for taxpayers.”
The Boeing facility in San Antonio is where the planes will be built. It already serves as a service depot for some military planes.
