Law Enforcement and Community Rallies together for Fallen Fort Worth Officer Hull’s Funeral,Procession

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- Fort Worth Police Officer Garret Hull’s funeral service was filled with his law enforcement family and loved ones. Chief Joel Fitzgerald honored him in a special way. “On this day forward I want him to be remembered as Corporal Garrett Hull,” Fitzgerald said. “It’s a small honor for a very large sacrifice,” he said. Fitzgerald said on behalf of the department, they will always be there for Hull’s family. “Not one person in here will ever turn you down for anything you need,” Fitzgerald said to Hull’s wife, Sabrina.

After the service, community members lined the streets with flags on their cars for Hull’s Procession.  Scott Gidley said his best friend was shot in the line of duty, and he’s here to pay his respect to Hull and to all officers who make sacrifices everyday. “These men and women go out and serve, protect our community not knowing they might not come home at night to their family,” Gidley said. “For you to come home each night is a blessing, and we wish that for all the officers,” he said.

April Taylor was among several holding flags, wiping tears and wearing shirts supporting Hull. Taylor said she is a police wife and has a brother in law enforcement. “It’s scary, you think about your family…losing your spouse…it makes you sad,” Taylor said.

These community members said they will always back the blue.
