Hamden, Connecticut (WBAP/KLIF) – A new Quinnipiac University poll shows Republican Senator Ted Cruz has a solid nine point lead over his Democratic challenger Congressman Beto O’Rouke. According to likely voters polled, 54-percent supported Cruz, while 45-percent backed O’Rouke. A Quinnipiac poll done back in September showed the same 9-point lead by Cruz. Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the poll says, “O’Rouke may be attracting massive crowds, but Cruz has a better favorability rating.” He also says Cruz would have to suffer a major collapse for him to lose. The poll surveyed 730 Texas likely voters from October 3rd through October 9th. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 4.4 percentage points.
