(WBAP/KLIF) – Any possible purple state threat for the future of Texas politics is not stopping the state’s senior senator for trying for another term.
Senator John Cornyn says he will be on the ballot in two years.
“I’m running for re-election and intend to run hard and win,” Cornyn said in a conference call with reporters Wednesday.
“I’ve established some seniority, worked my way up through leadership positions and now navigated this crazy place called Washington D.C. in a way that has benefited Texas,” Cornyn said.
Democratic Beto O’Rourke lost to Cornyn’s colleague Senator Ted Cruz by only single digits this year.
While Cornyn has yet to hold a formal re-election announcement, he says he has every intention on running.
