DFW International Airport Board Considers Approving Pre Construction Costs for 4 More International Gates

DFW – WBAP/KLIF – The board at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is expected to vote Thursday morning on funding pre construction costs associated with expanding the airport’s international Terminal “D” by four additional gates.   Airport spokeswoman Cynthia Vega says the airport is consistently breaking passenger travel records; 69 million were served in fiscal 2018, and it’s expected 72 million will be serviced next year.  Vega says DFW International is planning on the servicing of 75 million passengers.

If approved, the $4.8 million dollar contract is expected to be awarded to Irving-based APR Aviation partners to provide pre-construction services, which would include an environmental report.

The Dallas Morning News reports the airport plans to open a repurposed Terminal E satellite concourse next year, with 15 gates that will be used by American Airlines for regional flights; a planned addition of up to 100 additional flights each day.
