A North Dallas Diaper Bank helps federal employees

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)- A Dallas-based diaper bank is supplying a week’s worth of diapers, baby products and feminine hygiene products to help federal workers who have been furloughed or missing paychecks

Liz Muth with Hope Supply Co. said this is the largest diaper bank in Texas and they are happy to help those in need during the Government Shutdown. “There was a lady who came in with four kids and she’s been under a lot of stress so when I came out with supplies she started crying and I started crying too,” Muth said.

Muth said the company understand how much these items can add up and how costly everyday care items can be. The average baby goes through six to 10 diapers a day, which can up to $900 a year, according to the National Diaper Bank network. “Diapers are expensive, soap shampoo all of these expenses add up and when you aren’t sure when you’ll get another paycheck you may not be able to afford these things right now,” Muth said.  “It feels good to help but It’s emotional.. its sad to see people coming in here who don’t usually need the help,” Muth said.

Muth said they will not stop until the shutdown is over. They will continue to give out supplies during their business hours Tuesday- Saturday. You can also donate supplies to the warehouse at 10480 Shady Trl, Suit 104 Dallas,TX.
