Opening Weekend, but Cancelled Parade Saturday for the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo for it’s 123rd Year

UPDATED 9:05 pm – Stock Show announces a forecast of strong, unsafe winds has caused it to cancel the opening parade on Saturday.  Strong winds sustained at 20 to 30 miles an hour are expected to be accompanied by wind gusts in excess of 35 miles an hour.   The last time the Stock Show called a stop to it’s opening parade was 2007, when an ice storm blanketed North Texas.

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- Fort Worth’s signature event is finally here! With multiple shows and for the whole family including livestock, trade shows and rodeos, Matt Brockman with the Stock Show says he expects large crowds, especially as it’s the last year at the Will Rogers Coliseum. “The past three years we had around 1.2 million people coming through our gates and we think we’ll break records again,” Brockman said. He said with so much to do you’ll want to come more than once! Tickets for rodeos range from $22 to $30 each. Tickets for general admission:  Adults- $10  Kids 16 and under- $5 and under 5 year old is free. The event runs until February 9th
