A Paramedic is Hospitalized After Ambulance Was Hit While Rendering Aid

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Two paramedics were injured early Sunday morning while responding to another medical emergency.

About 3:15 a.m., Sunday morning with lights & sirens going, A Dallas Fire-Rescue Unit was hit by another vehicle at the intersection of W. Davis Street and North Westmoreland Road.

Both paramedics, and the driver of the other vehicle, were taken to a local hospital after being extricated from the wreckage.

Officials report that the medic who was driving the ambulance was released within a few hours, while the passenger-side medic sustained more serious injuries and is still hospitalized.

The driver of the other vehicle was pronounced dead at the hospital.
