Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – A fiery crash on the Dallas North Tollway this morning left one person dead and two others injured.
Lonny Hashchel with Texas Department of Public Safety says this morning around 2:30, a Jeep Wrangler became disabled on the right lane of the NB DNT after the driver lost control and struck a concrete barrier.
Two of three occupants of a black Nissan stopped to try to assist the Jeep driver. when a Suburu Legacy came barreling through and smashed into the disabled Jeep causing both vehicles to catch fire.
One of the men who had stopped to help was killed; the other was seriously injured and taken to Parkland Hospital.
The driver of the Jeep suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Haschel says the Suburu driver was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.
