Dallas Mayor Looking Forward to Role as Grand Marshal in St. Patrick’s Day Parade

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – North Texans are gearing up for this weekend’s ‘Dallas Mavericks St. Patrick’s Day Parade’ on Greenville Avenue.

Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to pack upper and lower Greenville Saturday for the 40th annual parade. Organizers officially announced Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings as the parade’s Grand Marshal at a kickoff event Thursday.

“I invite all of Dallas to come out and be Irish for a day,” said Mayor Rawlings. “And I want to say to everybody, drink a little Irish whiskey for me Saturday, too.”

Rawlings’ second and final term as Mayor will end in mid-june.
