(Fort Worth Fire)

Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – About 10 homes in Fort Worth, a few miles east of TCU have been evacuated after a train derailment led to several cars catching fire early this morning.

Mike Drivdahl, with the Fort Worth Fire says the evacuations were ordered because ethanol was involved in the derailment.

“We’re making sure that that area over by the derailment is safe. We’re planning for the worse. We don’t expect there to be any issues, but we want to make sure that those people are safe if there is.”

Hazmat crews are on the scene near the intersection of Berry and Yuma.

The first reports of fire came in around 1:30AM. No one has been injured.  A Fort Worth Fire Mobile Command truck also went up in flames during the incident.
