Body of Missing Dallas Toddler Found in Landfill

Updated 3:52 pm: Dallas Police say the body of 18 month old Cedric Jackson, who was the subject of an Amber Alert, has been found in a landfill in Rowlett.  Detectives say the boyfriend of the child’s aunt, Sedrick Johnson, confessed to placing the baby’s body in a dumpster.  Johnson is charged with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury

 

Update at 12:45pm Thursday:The State of Texas has discontinued the Amber Alert for missing Cedric Jackson. Dallas police expect to provide an update to the search sometime Thursday. Earlier Thursday family members were telling the media that Jackson was no longer alive. Police have not confirmed that statement. Investigators have been seen searching an area of a landfill in Rowlett possibly connected to the search.

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)- Dallas Police need your help finding a 1-year-old boy Cedric Jackson was last seen on 7/10/2019 at 12:30am in the 9700 block Whitehurst Drive. (Forest Meadows Parkby Ferris Creek and LBJ FWY East)

Cedric Jackson is a black boy, 20 pounds with black hair in braids, brown eyes and was last seen wearing only a diaper. Police say he may be in danger.

Major Max Geron with the Dallas Police department says the boy was in temporary custody of his Aun, ordered by CPS and was staying with her. “She said she put the child to bed a little after 11pm and by 6am he was missing,” Geren said.

Geron said a young witness saw a man that resembled his step grandfather take Jackson in the middle of the night. He was described as a 47-year-old black man, 5’7″ and 180 pounds. The man was located but not with Jackson. He was taken to Keller Jail on unrelated charges. “We don’t know if that suspect is the person in custody or we are looking for a separate suspect with that same description,” he said.
