Dallas Among Six Cities Hosting Amazon Job Fair Next Week, 30,000 Positions Available

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Amazon is planning to add 30,000 people to its workforce and will stop in North Texas to find potential candidates.

The online retail giant is hosting job “Annual Career Day” job fairs in six cities nationwide, including Dallas, next week.

Amazon is hiring full-time and part-time positions that range from $15/hr warehouse staff to software engineers who can earn more than $100,000 a year.

The hiring spree is not a part of the annual increase in hiring the company does ahead of the holiday shopping season.

Amazon said all candidates will have access to on-the-job-training and upskilling opportunities as part of the retailer’s $700 million “Upskilling 2025 Initiative” to help employees gain news skills to forward their career.

The company said it’s created more than 300,00 jobs in the past decade and has more than 650,000 employees nationwide.

The Dallas Morning News reports Amazon will hold the Dallas job fair at the Frontiers of Flight Museum near Love Field on September 17th. It runs from 11:30 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Job fairs will also be held in Seattle, Chicago, Nashville, Boston in Arlington, Virginia, where Amazon is building it’s second headquarters.
