Irving Police: Lockdown Lifted at Austin Middle School After Report of ‘Man With Gun’

The Irving Police Department updated the media about the investigation into reports of an “armed man” at Austin Middle School in Irving. Irving Police spokesman Robert Reeves says that a call came in from frantic person just before 7AM.

He said he believes the threat was credible based on the emotion on the called.

A parent was reported to have seen the man in the parking lot of the school while dropping their child off at school. The was reportedly seen getting out of a maroon Ford pick-up.

School surveillance cameras are being reviewed.

The school reopened at 10AM

A second search is underway at Austin Middle School in Irving as the Irving Police Department investigates reports of an “armed man.”  The department issued a tweet just after 8AM the school at 825 E Union Bower Rd, Irving was on lockdown with parents being instructed to go to 901 North Britain-Pierce EC reunite with their kids.
