City of Dallas Urging Residents to Report Storm Damage to 311

DALLAS  (WBAP/KLIF News) – As residents in north Dallas deal with cleanup and damage assessment stemming from the severe storms and tornado that touched down Sunday night, the City of Dallas is advising residents on how to start the process of getting their neighborhoods back to normal.

The city’s Emergency Operations Center is activated and officials are urging residents to call 3-1-1 to report damage.

The center monitors and direct responses to situations, manages the allocation of resources and develops operational period strategies.

City officials are urging residents to report power outages to Oncor and to call 9-1-1 to get help with any type of dangerous or life threatening situation.

The tornado touched down north of Dallas Love Field and left a trail of extensive damage to home in the from Royal Lane to Northwest Highway and 75 to Harry Hines Boulevard.

The Preston Hollow neighborhood was hit hard.

The severe storms also left destruction in Garland, Richardson, Rockwall and Sachse.

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service Fort Worth said it’s sending several teams to conduct damage surveys Monday and Tuesday across Dallas and Van Zandt counties.
