Balch Springs Idol (Music and Theatre)

BALCH SPRINGS IDOL SEEKS SINGERSGotta song to sing? We want to hear it. Balch Springs is seeking singers, age 14-21, to compete in the 2009 Balch Springs Idol, sponsored by the Balch Springs Visual and Performing Arts Alliance.Contestants will compete in one of two preliminary competitions, May 30 or June 6. Five finalists will be chosen each night to compete at the final on June 13. The top three winners will each receive a cash prize and gift certificate. Top finalists will also be featured throughout 2009-2010 at various events and performances.Registration fee is $10 per song per contestant. The deadline for registration is May 23. Singers can register for the competition online at www.balchspringsartsalliance.org or via email to idol@balchspringsartsalliance.org.The public is invited to attend. Admission is $5 at the door. All competitions will be held at the Library-Learning Center Auditorium located at 12450 Elam Road in Balch Springs.
