GRAND PRAIRIE (WBAP 24/7 News) - A six-year-old boy is dead and the driver of a dark-colored sedan in being sought after a hit-and-run accident Thursday night in Grand Prairie. Sgt. Eric Hansen says it happened at 7:30 p.m. on North Carrier Parkway near the intersection of Holiday Hills Drive.
Hansen says the car was likely a newer-model sedan.
"It will have some front-end damage to it. Probably not very noticeable or serious front-end damage. But it will have some damage to the front of the vehicle," said Hansen.
The boy was in a crosswalk, a few steps in front of his mother and another sibling. The six-year-old died after being taken to an Arlington hospital, but no one else was hurt.
Hansen says the driver stopped momentarily but then left the scene. Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to contact Grand Prairie police.
