IRVING (WBAP 24/7 News) - Driver error, not a mechanical failure caused this month's deadly bus crash in Irving. That's according to the preliminary findings of a Texas DPS investigation.
The report says the driver of the bus "failed to maintain a single lane". The driver told investigators that he may have blacked out before the April 11th crash on the George Bush Turnpike near Belt Line Road. The DPS says charges could be eventually filed against the driver after the investigation is complete.
Three passengers died and more than 40 were injured. The driver himself was also seriously hurt.
