DALLAS (WBAP 24/7 News) - International accounting firm KPMG has decided to construct a new officer tower in the Arts District near downtown Dallas, according to real estate brokers familiar with the deal.
Leasing agents say KPMG has been looking for a new home since its tower on Harwood Street went into foreclosure last year. The accounting firm wanted to keep its operations in central Dallas and considered several new buildings.
Brokers say that developer Craig Hall's development company got the edge for the project on Flora Street because of its location across from the Myerson Symphony Center and its shorter construction time.
The 16-story, 450,000-square-foot building will be constructed on top of an existing underground parking garage. It should open its doors in 2015.
