Texas State Representative Jason Villalba has introuduced a bill he is calling "The Protection of Children Act". Each marshall would be required to undergo a mental health evaluation and 80 hours of training, including in firearms proficiency, emergency situations and “active shooter training.” Villalba said a school marshal's credentials would need to be renewed every two years and the training requirement would be 10 times the number of hours required to get a concealed handgun license. Many are saying this is not enough training while other are saying 80 hours is sufficent calling it "insurance".
What do you think? Is 80 hours of training enough?
