20120401 0600 UTC Day 2 Outlook GraphicThis is a screen shot of the Severe Weather Outlook that was issued at midnight, Sunday, April 1, 2012, more than 2 days before the 17-tornado outbreak that struck DFW Tuesday, April 3rd.
In the intervening days and hours, more than a dozen statements, outlooks and watches were issued before the first damaging storms approched North Texas Tuesday morning, April 3rd.
All too often, after a severe weather outbreak, we'll hear "the storms struck without warning."
Most of the time, that's not true.
WBAP counted down the days, then the hours before the storms struck.  It's what we do.
There's no reason to not be aware of approaching severe weather.
