FORT WORTH (WBAP 24/7 News) - During spring break, the Fort Worth Zoo is a very popular destination for tens of thousands of people.
Although traffic is known to be challenging, it's expected to be especially true this year with the Chisholm Trail Parkway construction under way adjacent to stretches of Interstate 30 west of downtown.
Officials with the construction project say visitors to the zoo will be able to acess the facility using their normal route, but they should be prepared for construction traffic as work crews will continue their work on the new toll road.
During the nine-day spring break period, the zoo typically sees more than 100,000 visitors. It's all-time daily attendance record of 25,804 was set on a half-price Wednesday in 2010.
