
Brad Barton is a 36-year broadcast veteran, a graduate of Mississippi State University, an amateur radio operator and a seal-holder of the American Meteorological Society.
He is the recipient of numerous honors as reporter, editor, anchor, traffic pilot and meteorologist, most notably the “Key to the City” of Lancaster, Texas for his early warning of an F-4 tornado that destroyed the heart of the city in 1994.
As Chief Meteorologist at WBAP, Brad has the authority to interrupt any programming day or night for emergency weather information. His 30-year milestone in Texas broadcasting was honored by the mayors of both Dallas and Fort Worth.
Brad has a unique way of delivering weather information with humor, authority and when needed, urgency. On call 24/7, Brad has carte blanche to interrupt any programming day or night in an emergency. Otherwise, you’ll find him with Hal, Brian, Steve, Amy and the Traffic crew each morning on the WBAP morning news.
Brad and his wife, Brenda, have two married children and one granddaughter. They are active in the the Bethel Methodist Church of Southlake.
