IRVING (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Irving City Council will consider an ordinance related to raising chickens within the city limits.

The changes would ban all roosters and limit chicken owners to six.  The ordinance would also require a 25-foot “buffer” between chicken coops and any building that houses people.

The move comes after repeated complaints from residents.

Dallas, Plano, Garland and Grand Prairie have bans on roosters.
