Black Women are Stepping Up

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF NEWS) – A new generation of black women is moving to take and keep a place at the forefront of the fight against racial bias. Black women have not been strangers to past protests but historians say they’ve often been overshadowed, first by white women during the suffragette movement and then by the black men who were lionized during the civil rights movement. Some of the most arresting images from protests in recent years though have shown black women leading demonstrations in South Carolina and Louisiana.
