Mariachi Band Plays-On During Pandemic

(WBAP/KLIF) — Mariachi enthusiasts recently received some good news about this year’s international musicians conference.

Organizers of the Las Cruces International Mariachi Conference have given the green light for the gathering to move forward this November, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although live performances and in-person instruction has been canceled, the organization will provide the conference virtually.

The international mariachi conference in Las Cruces, New Mexico, draws musicians from all over the country and Mexico.

According to the Las Cruces Sun News, the conference originated in 1994 with a mission to preserve and promote the cultural art forms of mariachi music and folkloric dance.
