Little Elm (WBAP/KLIF) – Little Elm Police are investigating a recent arson incident the home of a family who awakened in the middle of the night to find their two cars on fire.

Jayla Gipson and her husband Charles Crawford told WFAA-TV that they lived in their home for 3 years without incident, until putting a Black Lives Matter sign in their yard.

The fires destroyed the cars and charred part of the garage door which had ‘Trump 2020’ spray-painted on it. The ‘Black Lives Matter’ sign was also spray-painted.

Gipson’s young son had awakened to use the restroom and noticed the cars burning. She says that if he hadn’t noticed that her house could have burned down or worse.

“I would have rather they just take the sign and throw it in the trash. But to set the house on fire and endanger my family, that’s going way to far.

Little Elm police immediately opened an arson investigation and will not released any information until it is complete.
