TSA with Reminders for Passengers who Travel with Guns

DALLAS (WAP/KLIF) – The Transportation Security Administration held an event on Wednesday at Dallas Love Field Airport to demonstrate how to properly pack and travel with a firearm.

“Last year Dallas Love Field had 5.6 million passengers travel through the airport, and for every 44,000 passengers we found a firearm in their carry-on bag,” TSA Security Director, Amy Williams said.

TSA is reminding passengers that guns must be checked through the airlines. It is the placed in a locked TSA case. Any ammunition is stored seperately.

While most passengers who are found with weapons in the security line made a mistake, they can be fined. In many cases, they miss their flight.
