FWPD: Toddler Hospitalized after Accidentally Shooting Herself

Police say a Fort Worth toddler suffered life-threatening injuries after accidentally shooting herself late last night.

The 2-year old is hospitalized at Cook Children’s in stable condition with a gunshot woung to the chest. Police say child’s mother told them that her daughter got hold of the gun in an unlocked draw in their home.

The incident happened on Aiken lane just North of Meadow Creek Park around 11:30 p.m. The investigation is active and will determine if charges will be filed.
