Irving Postpones Chicken Fight

IRVING (WBAP/KLIF News) – A ban on roosters is still up in the air in Irving.

Council decided Thursday night to postpone a decision on the new ordinance.

The changes would ban roosters and limit how many backyard chickens a person could own.  It would also require a 25-foot “buffer” between chicken coops and homes.

Mayor Beth Van Dyne said they wanted more input before moving forward.

Two meetings will be held in April.

Roosters are currently banned in Dallas, Plano, Garland and Grand Prairie.
