FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – Ethan Couch will be transferred from juvenile court to the adult system by his 19th birthday in April.

A judge in Tarrant County made the ruling Friday.

Couch was sentenced to 10 years’ probation in a drunken-driving crash that killed four people.

There could be new conditions to the teen’s probation once his case moves to adult court.  If he violates those conditions, he could get up to ten years in prison for each person killed.

Couch will remain in custody at this time.

Couch and his mom, Tonya, left the country in late November as authorities were investigating if he violated his probation.
