DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — Severe thunderstorms rolled through the DFW Metroplex early Wednesday morning, bringing heavy lightning and golf ball sized hail to parts of the Metroplex.

So far, there have been no reports of wind or lightning damage. The first cluster started around 5:30 Wednesday morning in the southwestern portion of the Metroplex and traveled northeast. With that storm came the golf ball sized hail.

A second cluster that passed through was not quite as strong, but still carried with it smaller hail and gusty winds. Chief Meterologist Brad Barton tells us if a third was to come through of similar magnitude, there would be a strong possibility of flooding.

Oncor has reported several thousand people without power Wednesday morning.
