DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Police departments across the state are partnering with the Texas Department of Transportation and the Texas Department of Public Safety in an effort to save lives.
The Click It or Ticket Campaign begins Monday May 22nd and runs through Wednesday June 7th.
Texas law requires drivers and all passengers-including those in the back seat to wear a seat belt or risk a ticket, up to $200 each. Â Children under eight years old, must be in a safety or booster seat, unless they are taller than 4 feet 9 inches.
Fines for unrestrained children, can be as high as $250 plus court costs.
