A Plano man has been sentenced to prison for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child.
According to the Collin County District Attorney’s Office, 22-year-old Daniel Ortega sexually abused the victim multiple times a week for a three year period beginning when the child was 9-years-old. When the child moved away she told her mother about the abuse who then went to police.
A jury returned a guilty verdict and Ortega was sentenced a short time later.
“After the jury returned with a guilty verdict the defense asked us if we could reach an agreement and we did reach an agreement,” said Collin County Assistant District Attorney, Geeta Singletary.
Ortega was sentenced to 41 years behind bars for the Sexual Abuse charge and sentenced to 20 years in prison on a related charge of Indecency with a Child.
