About the Show

“Make sense of it all, and have fun.” That’s the heartbeat of Markley, Van Camp & Robbins.

Jamie Markley (the Gen Xer), David van Camp (the Millennial), and Scott Robbins (the Baby Boomer) break down the news the way friends would—seriously tackling what matters, while laughing at the absurd.

Each voice brings a distinct perspective, bridging generations with sharp wit, smart analysis, and plenty of humor. At its core, the show feels like three friends hanging out, riffing on the day’s headlines and the stories that just make you laugh. One thing’s for sure: it’s never boring.

Meet the Team

David van Camp (as described by Jamie Markley)

David is a Texas football guy, a Star Wars nerd, a guitarist, and a foodie who insists steak should only be eaten rare. A former newsman “unleashed,” he digs deep into every story, calls out BS when he sees it, and works harder than anyone.

He’s also quick with generational banter—ready to roast Millennials, but just as quick to fire back when Gen X or Boomers get snarky. Smart, sharp, and fearless, David keeps the show fiery and fun.

Jamie Markley (as described by David van Camp)

Jamie’s gift is making the complicated simple. He breaks down big issues in a way anyone can understand—without losing depth. He constantly finds new angles, sparking conversations that even make David rethink the issues.

He’s also a walking music encyclopedia, dropping random facts at any moment—like how Tom Petty almost didn’t record “I Won’t Back Down” because it felt “too obvious.” (Yes, Jamie somehow worked that into a tax reform chat. ADHD for the win.)

Scott Robbins

Scott’s radio journey spans Top 40, Rock, Classic Hits, and News/Talk—all out of Peoria. In 2015, his career nearly ended when back-to-back heart attacks kept him hospitalized for six months. Against all odds, he returned to the mic—earning the title of “walking miracle.”

These days, Scott lives a healthier lifestyle, enjoys time with his “grand-pets” (dogs, cats, lizards—you name it), and remains a die-hard Cubs and Royals fan. Known for his sharp sarcasm and total lack of filter, Scott is the guy most likely to drop a story you won’t forget—whether it’s seeing Michael Jordan naked (true story) or rocking out at five NKOTB concerts with his daughter.

Born in 1960, he brings old-school perspective with a modern bite—reminding everyone what life was like before cable TV (and yes, running water).

👉 Together, Jamie, David, and Scott deliver a fast, funny, and unfiltered take on the news—proof that when three generations collide, radio magic happens.
