Methodist Mansfield Expanding

Mansfield (WBAP/KLIF News) – Construction crews have finished building the frame for an office building that will sit on the campus of Methodist Mansfield Hospital. The office building will house primary care doctors, as well as space for specialties that include oncologists and doctors with Methodist Brain and Spine Institute.

“We’ve learned through our professional office buildings that more like-medical services we can house in a structure does make it more patient-centered and patient friendly,” says Methodist Mansfield President John Phillips.

Phillips says increasing office space around the hospital itself allows for a more centralized campus and shorter trips for patients.

“The city is just bursting,” says Mansfield City Councilman Larry Broseh. “It’s bursting with good qualities. It shows the vitality of the city we have.”

The building should open in December, costing $11.8 million. Mansfield has transferred a street that runs between the hospital and office building to Methodist to make patient and employees’ movement through the campus easier.
