Former Baylor University Regent Apologizes for Describing Female Students as “Insidious and Inbred” for Drinking Alcohol

WACO (WBAP/KLIF News) –  Former Baylor University Regent Neal “Buddy” Jones has issued an apology after several emails revealed him making disparaging remarks about female students.

The 2009 emails were filed as part of a Title IX lawsuit filed against Baylor by 10 women who reported being sexually assaulted while attending the university.

According to the Waco Tribune-Herald, Jones described the female students he thought were drinking at parties as “perverted little tarts.” He also wrote that girls who drink at parties are the “vilest and most despicable girls.”

He also suggested that one woman be expelled.

The Baylor administrator wrote back that the student in question was of legal drinking age.

Jones released a statement that said he regrets sending the emails which he described as “hyperbolic and too harsh.”

Jones served on the Board of Regents from 2003 to 2013, when he left Baylor to become a lobbyist.
