DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Police have arrested a man they say brutally raped a Lake Highlands woman over the course of several hours overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday.
Police were called to an apartment complex in the 9900 block of Whitehurst drive (near I-635 and Skillman) around 11:40 am Wednesday after a neighbor found the 67-year-old victim crying on the floor of her apartment, claiming she had been sexually assaulted by a stranger.
Shortly before she was found, the suspect, identified as 18-year-old Corey Lindale Davis, was spotted leaving the apartment by an employee of the complex who then called police and followed Davis until he was arrested near Forest Lane and Audelia Road. He had some of the victims belongings with him when he was apprehended. Davis was later identified on surveillance video leaving the victims apartment nearly eleven hours after forcing her inside.
Davis was booked for Aggravated Sexual Assault. There is no indication at this time he is linked to any other Sexual Assault offenses, but his DNA was collected and will be checked to see if it matches any other cases.
