DALLAS  (WBAP/KLIF News) – Dallas Fire Rescue crews are conducting a water rescue on the Trinity River in South Dallas.

Rescuers arrived on scene in the Great Trinity Forest, just north of the I-45/I-20 interchange just before 11 a.m. Wednesday.

DFR said a civilian called 911 and said that a car was seen upright in the river initially but it flipped over and was swept away.

A few rescue boats were launched in the process.

So far, there’s no word on how many people were in the car.

Heavy rains drenched parts of North Texas overnight, causing flooding in some areas and the need for several early-morning water rescues.
